Everyone has a story and this is a little of mine, it’s a story shaped by personal struggles, meaningful conversations and a growing belief in the power of being truly heard. Those experiences ultimately led me to become the person I am today.
Like many people I have my own struggles with mental health, when I was younger I lived with depression and found it incredibly difficult to talk about what I was going through. On the occasion I did try to open up, I often felt shut down or misunderstood. Instead of opening up it felt easier to keep everything inside and suffer in silence, until of course it wasn’t.
Looking back I can see how lonely that place was.
As life moved on, I found myself becoming the person people naturally turned to when they were struggling. Whether it was friends, family or colleagues at work, people would often come to me when they needed someone to listen. I never had all the answers but I realised that sometimes they don’t need advice, they simply need someone to listen without judgement.
that realisation stayed with me!!!
Alongside this, I developed a passion for raising awareness around men’s mental health. I created a community to encourage conversations about mental wellbeing, challenge the stigma that so many men face, and remind others that it’s okay to ask for help. Seeing the difference that honest conversations could make only strengthened my desire to support people in a deeper, more meaningful way.
Those experiences inspired me to retrain as a counsellor.
While I welcome adults from all walks of life, I have a particular passion for supporting men’s mental health.
For many men, talking about emotions hasn’t always felt easy. You may have grown up believing you should stay strong, keep going, or deal with things on your own. Over time, that can lead to feelings of stress, anxiety, anger, low mood, isolation, or a sense that you’ve lost sight of who you are.
Reaching out for support can feel like one of the hardest steps to take, but it can also be one of the most important.
I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly, without pressure or expectation. Whether you’re facing challenges in your relationships, struggling with work-related stress, coping with loss, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you.
Seeking support isn’t a sign of weakness, it‘s a sign that you’re giving yourself the opportunity to understand yourself more deeply and make meaningful, lasting changes.
My aim is to create the kind of space I wish I’d had when I was younger, a space where you feel safe, accepted and truly heard. A place where you don’t have to pretend everything is okay, where you can explore whatever is on your mind at your own pace, and where we work together to help you move towards the life you want to live.
Because I believe that no one should have to face life’s challenges alone.
A safe space. A listening heart. A place to grow.
